Oh Rockin Robin

Averi had her last competition of the season yesterday. Garrett took the day off and joined Averi and I at her competition in Prove. She did really well. I was trying to get her to practice instead of watching all the other girls when she looked at me and said " it's OK mama, I've got it". What do you say to that? I now KNOW without a doubt, I get MORE nervous than she does.... She won Queen in her age division and surprisingly, the High Point Winner in the Novice Category. WE WERE SHOCKED!!! I had just turned to Garrett to say "lets go" when they announced her name. Averi said "what did I do to get this trophy?" It was very funny! We tried to explain it to her, but I don't think she really understood. It was a very nice day. We grabbed some dinner and visited with some family members we don't see all that often. It was so nice to spend time with each other, especially since Garrett has been SO BUSY with baseball and the AP History Test this week. This week is the region playoffs and next week is the state tournament. They only have to win one game on either Tuesday or Wednesday to guarantee them a game the following week.

GO GRANGER!

Garrett was also selected to be the ALL STAR coach in his region for the 2009 All Star Team. I am so proud of him. I DO NOT KNOW HOW HE GETS UP SO EARLY EVERY DAY AND GETS HOME SO LATE AND CAN STILL HAVE A SMILE ON HIS FACE! He amazes me!

Our Queen

On Friday, Averi danced @ Roy High School & competed in the 3-5 year old Solo division. This has been one of the larger competitions we have done so far because of the number of girls competing. She did Wonderful! I think I was more nervous than she was! She tugged on my sleeve and said "Mom I need to say a little prayer". We found a quiet corner and she asked Heavenly Father to "help her remember her dance, not to be scared and to have FUN! She also asked that her Daddy could be safe driving home". It was so sweet. She then sat, waved at everyone who came to watch her and waited her turn.... When her number was up, she smiled, walked onto the floor and did her thing. Like I said, I was more nervous than she was!!! She amazes me... She has came A LONG WAY since our first competition back in March. I think she has gotten better and better each time, but I AM HER MOMMY! When they called her name for her award, she was SO PROUD, she strutted up to the front, received her trophy, sash and crown and SMILED at everyone!!! When she came to sit by everyone, she kept saying "I won Queen, I won Queen". I love seeing the excitement and sense of accomplishment come over her... Both Garret and I were so proud of her. She's a SWEETIE!

Little Dancer

I am a little behind, but two weeks ago, Averi had a dance competition @ Syracuse High School. She did REALLY well.... I was a bit nervous for her because she went FIRST.... I was worried that we would have a repeat of our Logan experience. She shocked me! She walked right out onto the floor and didn't miss a beat! She was so cute. She actually ended up winning "Queen" in her age division. She was so excited. She didn't want to take her crown off of her head!

Sunday Afternoon

I just thought she looked cute after church, I had to grad a few pictures. She was so happy when we told her that it was warm enough to blow bubbles outside and go for a walk...
Welcome Spring!

Tiny Dancer

On Friday, Averi had another dance competition. It was nice because it was at Bonneville High which means it was REALLY close to home. We were able to arrive ready to perform, leave for dinner and be back for awards.
Averi did REALLY well!!! She placed 1st attendant and won the drill down in her age division. We were so proud and happy for her. Here she is with her trophy, medal. crown and money-which is burning a huge hole in her little pocket!!!!

GOOD JOB SWEET GIRL!!!

Happy Birthday Averi

I can't believe my baby girl is 4 years old!
I get choked up when I think about how QUICKLY she is growing up... I wish I could push a pause button and keep her at this age FOREVER!!
What a fun Birthday, on Saturday, we went for pizza and bowling with friends and family. On Sunday, we had cake, ice cream and presents. On Monday (her actual Birthday), we went to Daddy's game and then surprised her with a trip to Build A Bear. She was so excited!!! She loved picking out the bear. However, picking the clothes and shoes was the best! She kept changing her mind, over and over. We then went to dinner and she loved that they brought her a sundae and a HUGE fish hat to wear! She said "Mom, you have to put this on our blog". When we got home, we had one last surprise for her. She was so excited to find a Princess bike waiting for her. She just kept smiling and saying "this is so beautiful, am I going to fall ? "
Averi we love you so much !
You bring us both so much happiness, laughter and joy.
Even though you are getting bigger, you will always be our baby girl!
Happy Birthday Sweetie!

Our second dance comp.

WOW- What a difference from last week! Averi did GREAT! She placed 1st! She was so happy to receive her trophy and LOVED having her Daddy watch her dance! This was the only chance that we had of Garrett catching a performance (thanks to the NASTY weather his baseball game was canceled). I love watching her have fun, smile and enjoy performing! It makes me giggle when she SHAKES her little hips! What a cutie:)

Our first Dance Comp.

Here are a few pics. from Averi's 1st dance comp. It was on March 27Th. She was so excited but I think her nerves got the best of her. When she heard her name announce over the sound system SHE FREAKED!!! She told me that is was WAY TO LOUD! And then asked me WHY THAT MAN TOLD EVERYONE HER NAME! I told her that it was her turn to dance and she told me that she would if I danced with her!!! I tried to tell her that mama can't but she told me, "I know you can do it if you just try!" What do you say to that??? So, her are some pics of Averi and me on the floor at the Spectrum! She ended up placing third....

SOOOO BIG

Averi had her first Primary Party. She was so excited. I don't know if she was more excited to wear her new dress or for the actual party. I can not believe that next month she will be four!

She has been reminding me DAILY that soon it will be her special day....

I asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday, she said, "Maybe we could go to New York, or maybe California, I'd be fine with either". FUNNY GIRL!!!

Baseball Anyone?

On Friday, Averi and I went to Garrett's baseball game.

It definitely could have been A LOT warmer, the sun was VERY deceiving!

Averi loves to play ball out side, she LOVES to hit and throw the ball.

She may look like her Daddy but she is a LEFTY like me!

Him + Me = LOVE

Happy anniversary Sweetie!
I can not believe it has been 10 years....
I fall more and more in love with you each day.
As I look back, one memory that stands out strongly for me is the moment that you walked off the airplane after serving your mission.
When you looked at me, and held me in your arms, I knew that we would be spending FOREVER together!!!
Thank you for being such a wonderful husband.
I love you with all my heart!

Cookies Anyone?

Little Miss Betty Crocker paid us a visit to night!

My parents gave Averi an Easy Bake Oven last week and ever since, she has been on pins and needles waiting to "bake us DESSERT". So tonight, Garrett and I had her make us cookies. She was so EXCITED. When we told her what we were going to do, she made a mad dash for her room and came out with her chefs Hat on and apron.

From that moment on, we were suppose to call her CHEF AVERI! What a stitch!

Next time, she said "were making CUPCAKES"!

A LoVely Day

Happy Heart Day! This year we went to the Draper Temple open house with a group of our friends. It was fun. I thought that the inside was beautiful, but I didn't care for the outer construction. I was expecting to see a beautiful, eye catching, spectacular WHITE temple, instead, it was dark grey (the stone was shipped from China). I have seen many temples in my travels but none like this one. It was fun to take Miss Averi through the tour and talk about the importance of temples. She was such a good little girl. It was so nice to spend the day with our friends and each other.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Remember when you were little and your Mom would have to remind you to Practice your dance or WHATEVER it may have been... Lately, Averi has been the one to remind me that we need to practice her dance for her competition. Averi looks forward to dance class every week. My favorite thing is that she sings the entire song while she is dancing. Seriously, SO FUNNY! She knows all the words too!
I can only hope that her love for practicing her talents will be a desire and a passion for her as she grows, not a "DO I HAVE TO?"

Friends

Last week, Averi and I went to Las Vegas to spend some time with our friends. We had a great time but sadly had to come home early due to Averi getting sick.
We still managed to take the kids out one afternoon for a little fun.
We went to Color Me Mine, a pottery shop where you paint your project and they fire it for you. Averi chose a dog. I tried to have her paint a plate that she could use on special occasions but the DOG one! She was so careful not to get paint on her or her clothes. Good JOB SWEETIE!
Thanks to the Gibson's for hosting us!
Hopefully we can get together soon and all will be healthy!

Little Betty Crocker

Last week, Averi asked me if we could bake some cookies. I had no idea what a little Betty Crocker she would be! Such a big girl. She mixed and stirred, while giggling the entire time! I have so much fun with her. I am so glad that she likes sweets as much as I do!

BedTime Stories

I thought this was so cute, I had to show you. Averi loves it when her Daddy tells her bedtime stories. We went and saw the movie "Bedtime Stories" last week and loved it. I don't know how Garrett thinks up all of his crazy tales, the funny thing is, the next morning when she wakes, she will re-tell me EXACTLY what he told her the night before! I have to say "G" -Some are PRETTY GOOD!

CHEERS

May 2009 bring you and yours much Happiness!

HAPPY NEW YEAR
